Project Presentation - www.elections.panorama.am

On May 4th, in Armenia Mariott hotel the www.elections.panorama.am web – site was officially launched.

In his opening speech, Mr. Ara Saghatelyan, the President of Armenian PR Association stated that the initiative undertaken by APRA and panorama.am editorship is aimed at providing the information regarding up- coming elections and the elections campaigns to the society, thus enabliing citizenry to exercise one’s right of realizing the informed choice.

www.elections.panorama.am web – page structure was presented by Mrs. Anush Begloian, executive director of Armenian PR Association.

In her turn Mrs. Begloian told that the web–site provides large audience with the information both on the candidates running for majoritarian and proportional constituency, as well as enables visitors to get acquainted with the national and international observers' viewpoints on the pre - election campaigns and the election process itself.

Presented «news» section of the web – site partially contains the same information of panorama.am news portal, which, however considers up- coming elections only.
The web- page is also empowered with the «blog» where the visitors may address their questions to the political parties and candidates bring the different issues to the wide discussions and claim the violations during the elections.

In respond to the journalist's question, Mr. Saghatelyan noted that the blog is moderated in order to exclude the improprieties only and that the visitors are free to voice out their opinions and observations. Mr. Saghatelyan also emphasized that the project will not be accomplished with the election itself but will continue functioning with the objective to cover the post- election processes and presidential up - coming elections as well.

Mr. Saghatelyan also mentioned that both www.elections.panorama.am and www.panorama.elections.am are linked to the same web- page.

This co –partnered project is being supported by the Armenian Christian Society.
